What is Reiki
Reiki is a gentle, ancient Japanese practice, traditionally understood as “universal life energy.”
It was rediscovered in the early 20th century and has since been shared worldwide as a simple, yet deeply supportive way to encourage rest, balance, and wellbeing.Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy practice that supports the body and mind to rest, rebalance, and restore. It works with the body’s natural energy systems, helping to ease tension, calm the nervous system, and support an overall sense of wellbeing. During a session, you remain fully clothed and can simply rest — either in person or at a distance — while Reiki is offered with care and intention. Many people experience deep relaxation, a sense of calm, or a quiet emotional release, though each session is unique and received in its own way.Reiki is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical treatment, but can be a supportive addition alongside it.I am trained in Usui Reiki (Levels 1 and 2) and registered with the UK Reiki Federation, offering sessions in a safe, professional, and considered way.

How I workDistance Reiki is offered without video or live calls. At an agreed time, I connect in and hold a calm, intentional space for you to receive. You may choose to rest, continue with your evening, or simply stay open to the experience- whatever feels right for you. You’re welcome to share anything you’d like support with beforehand, though no explanation is needed, arriving as you are is enough.Afterwards, I’ll send a message with gentle reflections and anything that arose during the session. This approach allows for a quiet, personal experience, free from pressure or expectation.

A little about me..I offer Reiki and gentle energy-based support in a calm and considered way. My approach is grounded in both professional healthcare experience and ongoing intuitive practice.I previously worked as an adult nurse at Southend University Hospital and later as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. This background continues to shape the safe, supportive space I hold for others, particularly for families navigating separation or challenging early experiences. I bring trauma awareness into my work, creating sessions that feel held, gentle, and nurturing.Alongside this, my interest in Reiki and energy work has developed over time, becoming a natural extension of how I support wellbeing. I am particularly drawn to the role of intuition, the body’s subtle responses, and the quieter aspects of healing.Outside of my work, I’m a mum to an 8-year-old boy. We enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, exploring and growing our own foods. If we haven't met before, you're welcome to reach out with any questions you have or we can organise a phone call.Sarah-Jane
